(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – According to a biology professor at St. Philip's College in San Antonio, Texas, he was fired for telling his students that the X and Y chromosomes determine sex. In a statement on behalf of Professor Johnson Varkey, First Liberty Institute stated, "The institution fired him for teaching basic and well-known facts of biology. We are requesting that the college quickly restore Dr. Varkey to his job and expunge any misconduct from his past." According to the First Liberty Institute, a Texas-based nonprofit Christian conservative law firm that wrote to the college on behalf of Johnson Varkey demanding that the professor be reinstated, Varkey claimed that St. Philip's College fired him for "religious preaching" after he informed students about the human reproductive system in November, which resulted in four students leaving his class. "The college let him go since he was teaching well-known and fundamental biological principles. In a statement, the First Liberty Institute demanded that the college quickly reinstate Dr. Varkey to his post and expunge any misconduct from his past." |
