In a paper released last week, officials hypothesized that solar geo-engineering, also known as solar radiation modification (SRM), which involves reducing sunlight to rapidly chill the globe, might have a future.

The potential consideration coincides with the Biden administration's support of solar panels to harness the sun's beams for energy production.
