(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) refused to say if he would back former President Donald Trump as the party's nominee if he were found guilty, saying that he was "just simply not going to comment on the candidates."
The Senate Minority Leader was questioned by CNN's Manu Raju: "Given that the former president is facing a federal indictment and these serious allegations, could you still support him if he becomes the nominee, even if he's convicted?"
McConnell sidestepped the topic by declining to say his genuine motivations.
According to McConnell, the Republican nomination campaign has been ongoing for six months. "I'm just going to refrain from commenting on the candidates because it will continue for another year."
The congressman continued, "We've got a bunch of, and I'm just going to stay out of it."
