(FamilyConservationPAC.com) – Just under 40% of all students at Brown University identify as LGBTQI+, according to research by the school's Brown Daily Herald.
According to the most recent data, the percentage of students at Providence, Rhode Island University who identify as LGBTQI+ has nearly tripled between 2010 and 2023 (from 14 percent in 2010 who said they were not heterosexual to 38 percent currently).
According to a poll by The Herald in the spring of 2023, 38% of college students do not identify as straight, more than five times the national average.
The nation has seen an upsurge in LGBTQ+ identity over the past ten years, with Brown experiencing remarkably rapid growth.
Since Fall 2010, Brown's LGBTQ+ community has grown significantly. The percentage of students who identify as bisexual has surged by 232%, and the gay or lesbian population has grown by 26%, according to the student publication.
