(ConcernedPatriot.com) – On Friday, House Democrats filed legislation imposing an excise tax of 1,000 percent on AR-15s and other firearms they classify as "assault weapons."
According to FOX News, the tax would also be levied on "high capacity" magazines.
The tax, which was also supported by Rep. Don Beyer (D) and 24 other Democrats last year, is supported by them.
The letter stated, according to The Hill:
"We are disappointed that Republican leadership cancelled votes in July with so many pressing issues facing our country. Foremost amongst those is the gun violence crisis that is the leading cause of death for children in America."
